Expert auto service and auto repair
John’s Auto Repair was started in March 1983 by John Clarke and John Duaime at Charlie Kepp’s Atlantic. Mr. Kepp had operated the gas station since 1960 and by 1983 was ready to slow down just a little so he sold the repair part of the business to long-time employees, John Clarke, and John Duaime. As times changed, Johns Auto Repair moved from its Welsh and the Blvd. location to 2030 Grant Avenue, which had much more inside space, but not much parking. After eight years John’s Auto moved to its present location, 9365 Old Bustleton Avenue, just two blocks away from the original location.
In the spring of 1999, John Clarke was diagnosed with lung cancer. Although John fought hard, sadly, he lost his battle with cancer on May 12, 2000. Even with this great loss, the business continued to grow due to great customers who returned to John’s Auto year after year; car after car; generation after generation. While dealing with the loss of a partner, John Duaime also had to deal with the ever-changing automotive industry by schooling after hours and keeping up on technologies. To this day, our entire shop team still furthers their education and experience with classes so John’s Auto is ready for the future is well-equipped to serve the Bustleton, Lower Bucks and Montgomery areas for a very long time.
